Exciting Collaboration Announcement
Hello everyone! Today, I have some exciting news related to cultural heritage. The Tokyo National Museum, which celebrated its 150th anniversary in March 2022, has been conducting the “Dancing Haniwa & Bijin Repair Project” in collaboration with the Cultural Property Utilization Center as part of its commemorative activities.
As part of this project, Hatsune Miku has collaborated with the famous “Bijin-ga” (beautiful woman painting) to create the character “Bijin Miku.” Now, we are thrilled to announce that a collaboration with “Haniwa” has been decided!
Details of the Collaboration
The collaboration visuals were created by the talented artist Mitsuki Hachi! Miku is depicted as the “Haniwa Warrior with Armor,” which is the first Haniwa to be designated as a national treasure, while Rin and Len are illustrated as the “Dancing Haniwa” performing a dance. The visuals beautifully capture the relaxed atmosphere of Haniwa and the adorable, deformed versions of Miku and her friends, creating a perfect match!
- This marks the third collaboration between Hatsune Miku and the cultural properties of the Tokyo National Museum.
- The repair of the “Dancing Haniwa” has already been completed as part of the project.
- This collaboration aims to support various repair projects of other cultural properties in the museum’s collection.
In the future, we plan to sell merchandise featuring Miku and her Haniwa-themed designs, so stay tuned for more updates!
Exhibition Information
The repaired “Dancing Haniwa” and Miku as the “Haniwa Warrior with Armor” are currently on display at the Tokyo National Museum’s special exhibition titled “Haniwa,” which runs until December 8, 2024. Although the exhibition period is limited, I highly encourage you to visit and see these amazing pieces in person!
This time, we have only introduced the illustrations, but more updates regarding the collaboration will be announced soon, so please look forward to it! See you in the next update!
