The beloved franchise “Lupin III” is set to return with a completely new theatrical film titledLUPIN THE IIIRD THE MOVIE(tentative title), scheduled for release in 2025. This marks the first 2D theatrical animation in approximately 30 years since “Lupin III: DEAD OR ALIVE”.

Director and Staff

Directed by Kenji Koike, who has previously worked on the “LUPIN THE IIIRD” series including “The Grave of Daisuke Jigen” and “The Blood Spray of Goemon Ishikawa”, the film promises to blend unique roughness with meticulous detail. Koike aims to utilize the latest technology and expressive techniques to create the ultimate Lupin III experience that returns to the series’ roots.

Special Screening Event

To celebrate the upcoming release, a revival screening of “Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro” will begin on November 29. Following the main feature, a long version of the new film’s teaser (approximately 2 minutes) will be showcased, featuring many cuts not available online. (Note: The IMAX version will not include the teaser.)
