Exploring the History of Elbaf through the Harlei and Murals
In the latest chapter of One Piece, Chapter 1138, we are presented with a stunning depiction of the “Harlei” and the murals inscribed on Adam. These elements are crucial in understanding the ancient to modern history of Elbaf. The “Harlei” consists of three chapters that narrate the broad history from ancient times to the present in the form of myths. According to Yarl, the world has been destroyed twice, and we currently exist in the “Third World.” In this article, I would like to summarize my personal interpretations of the “Harlei” and the murals.

First World
The history of the ancient era, believed to be around 4000 years ago, is depicted in the first chapter of the Harlei. Throughout the three chapters, variousgodsappear, but the sun god is distinguished by the quotation marks, suggesting a unique status compared to the other gods such as the earth, forest, and sea gods. This leads me to interpret these as thethree ancient weaponsthat bear the names of gods.
Second World
TheSecond Worldis portrayed as the time when humanity began to rebuild civilization after the catastrophic events of the First World. The cause of the destruction of this world is believed to be the ancient weapon Poseidon, which led to a significant rise in sea levels, creating the Grand Line and Calm Belt. The emergence of theRed Lineis thought to be a result of massive geological upheaval, which also destroyed much of the civilization of the First World.
Third World
TheThird Worldspans from 800 years ago to the present and near future. While I have provided a provisional interpretation of the events, I find certain aspects, such as the “inconvenient” and “hearing voices” sections, to be unsatisfactory. The terms “half-moon person” and “crescent moon” seem to refer to similar yet distinct entities, which raises questions about their meanings.
Interpretation of the Murals
Regarding the murals, I believe they are linked in a way that the left side represents theThird World, the center depicts theSecond World, and the right side illustrates theFirst World. This interpretation invites further discussion, as there are many ambiguous aspects that I would love to hear your thoughts on.
Conclusion
Ultimately, it seems that the world is destined to be “turned upside down” and that “dawn will come.” I invite everyone to share their interpretations and insights on these fascinating elements of One Piece!
