One Piece Chapter 1129: Insights on Luffy’s Power

Exploring Chapter 1129: “Living Doll” of One Piece

This week, as I navigated through a shorter work week, I found solace in the world of One Piece. Finally, I have the freedom to indulge in my thoughts about the latest chapter. Let’s dive into the continuation of my impressions from the first half of Chapter 1129.

The Drama of the Box Garden

In this chapter, we see the character Road, the navigator of the New Giant Pirates, who exhibits a somewhat childish desire to play god in his own created world. His actions in the box garden reflect a deep-seated need for control, reminiscent of the notorious Doflamingo, who actually seized a kingdom. However, Road’s ambitions seem rather trivial in comparison, almost endearing in their naivety.

The Quest for Freedom

For those trapped in this miniature world, the situation is dire. The Iskatt (cat) carrying the Straw Hat crew seems to be running for its life, hinting at a desire to escape. Even those who appeared to fit into this small world were secretly plotting their escape, as revealed in this week’s depiction. Luffy is poised to become a beacon of freedom in this confined “Block Country”!

The Mystery of Road’s Samurai Language

One intriguing aspect is Road’s use of samurai language from Wano Country. Despite geographical proximity, Wano is a closed nation, making this peculiar. Here are some possibilities for this mystery:

  • 1. Road was inspired by Kozuki Oden, who visited Elbaf as a member of the Whitebeard or Roger Pirates.
  • 2. A stowaway from Wano established a village in Elbaf, leading to descendants who still reside there.
  • 3. Road is a half-breed of the Giant and Wano samurai.
  • 4. Road has previously stayed in Wano.
  • 5. Among the “living dolls” captured by Mugiwara, there was a samurai.

Personally, I lean towards the first possibility, but the fifth seems more plausible.

Luffy’s “Just a Little Gear 4”

This week, Luffy’s strength was on full display. He effortlessly shattered a wall that Road claimed could not be broken by giants with just a “little Gear 4”. Road seems to underestimate the Yonko. It’s surprising he hasn’t heard about how Luffy defeated the strongest of the giants, Haildin, with just a “Gear 2” punch.

Is Elbaf Beyond the Box Garden?

Could it be that what lies beyond Road’s box garden is indeed Elbaf? Luffy’s expression upon breaking through the wall and Road’s mention of the Giant Pirate Crew coming to greet them suggest that this is likely Elbaf. The relationship between the Giant Pirate Crew led by Dorry and Brogy and the Straw Hat Grand Fleet led by Haildin is also intriguing. Road’s dismissive attitude towards Luffy and his crew raises questions about his respect for the Giant Pirate Crew.

As we await the reunion of the Straw Hat crew, I am excited to uncover the pirate dynamics in Elbaf!
