Analysis of ONE PIECE Chapter 1145
This article delves into the analysis of ONE PIECE Chapter 1145, published in Weekly Shonen Jump 2025 Issue 19! This week features a cover and an anime-original illustration in full color! Additionally, the cover art titled “Yamato the Demon Child’s Visit to the Golden Inari Shrine” is also included!
In Volume 30, we learn that Yamato has destroyed a dartboard to free Ulti. Page One is safe, and Ulti is overjoyed to see him. Yamato stands with her back turned, leaving us to wonder if there will be a moment of repayment for this kindness from the two.
Now, let’s dive into the main story. The title is “The Fire in the Second Forest Area of the Tree Road No. 8”!
Goldburg’s Shield Nash
The long-awaited secret of Goldburg’s shield has been revealed. Its true identity is a Homie! It was given life by the user of the Soul-Soul Fruit. The name is “Nash”. This shield was brought to life when Goldburg’s father went to defeat Big Mom. This means that Big Mom infused the shield with a soul.
Two points arise from this revelation:
- Who did the shield originally belong to?
- Whose soul was infused into it?
It’s possible that the shield belonged to Goldburg’s father, making it a keepsake for him. The second question is more intriguing. Did Big Mom extract the soul from Goldburg’s father and infuse it into the shield? If so, it would further solidify the shield as a keepsake. Alternatively, it could be someone else’s soul entirely, perhaps someone named “Nash”. There’s definitely a story behind this.
By the way, Homies do not inherit the personality of the soul’s owner. For instance, Zeus, infused with Big Mom’s soul, has a personality distinct from hers. Nash claims to know Zeus and refers to himself as a “top executive of Homies”. This could lead to revelations in the conversation between Zeus and Nash.
Encounter with the Knights of God
Roki is severely injured due to the Knights of God. This information reaches Haildin and Luffy, who are present. But what happened to “Roki’s true intentions”?
It seems that this story connects to the truth behind King Harald’s death, which was supposedly due to a murderous intent. Haildin speculates that the world government sent people to Elbaf because Roki had made enemies while rampaging abroad. However, Roki denies this, suggesting that if he had encountered the Knights of God, he would have already become the “King of the World”. This implies that a significant event must occur for the Knights to appear.
Roki’s statement suggests that a battle against the Knights of God is a fight for the title of “King of the World”, which means a battle against the world government itself. Roki has not yet fought the Knights, but he is aware of their existence. How did he come to know about them? Did he hear about them from Shamrock, or was there something else?
Roki and Rocks D. Xebec
Sanji was about to uncover the truth about King Harald’s death when Zoro interrupted. However, this leads to an interesting discussion. Roki mentions that he knows where Shanks is, and he understands Luffy’s desire to meet him. Roki had his own admiration for a pirate he met in his childhood.
Haildin seems to grasp the meaning behind Roki’s words, indicating that this pirate must have visited Elbaf. This pirate is likely Rocks D. Xebec, as he is seen alongside Whitebeard (Newgate) in silhouette. Roki admired Rocks and once asked him to take him along.
Roki’s mention of the “King of the World” seems to be influenced by Rocks. After challenging Rocks, Roki was thoroughly defeated. This experience may explain why he calls Shanks a “coward”. Rocks was merciless, unlike Shanks. Roki laments that he was born in the wrong era, wishing he could have met Rocks as an adult. What if he had met Roger instead?
Rocks’ Objective
It appears that Rocks came to Elbaf with a specific purpose. If Roki’s story is not a digression, it is believed that Rocks sought the “legendary Devil Fruit” passed down in the royal family of Elbaf. This suggests that he came to meet King Harald.
Roki may have eaten this “legendary Devil Fruit” and declared, “I will end the world”, believing he carries on Rocks’ will. Alternatively, he might have come to recruit Dorry and Brogy, but they were absent.
Gavarn Senses an Abnormal “Voice”
Meanwhile, on the Great Ailric ship, Gavarn senses three “abnormal voices” amidst the battle with monsters. The monsters are not singular; each child had multiple fears manifesting in their dreams. If they knew the real Roki, the monsters would have been stronger.
Gavarn’s observation indicates that he is aware of the Knights of God, but he has not realized that one of them has switched places with Shamrock. What is the nature of this “abnormal” sensation? It does not imply strength, suggesting something unusual about the Knights of God.
Military Child Appears
After defeating Feril, Sauron cannot stop the children from marching into the fire. Despite the firefighters’ efforts, the flames show no signs of abating. Just when it seems hopeless, Jinbe arrives, using “Sea Cloud” to extinguish the fire!
At this moment, the Knights of God also make their move. Military Child appears alone on the “Mist Ship” of the Colon Pirates, which carries Nami, Usopp, Brook, and Jinbe. Although outnumbered, Military Child likely does not intend to fight. His target seems to be Colon, possibly to use him as leverage against the Straw Hat crew.
Next Issue: Break
While I was surprised to see Roki’s side appear, I was disappointed that no new information was revealed. However, the discussions about the Knights of God and Rocks may connect to the story of King Harald’s death, so I remain hopeful.
Next issue will be on break, with a return scheduled for April 21 (Monday). Thank you for reading!
