Overview of the Year-End Super Festival
The “Year-End Super Festival 2025” is currently underway in the mobile game ONE PIECE Treasure Cruise. This event celebrates the legacy of the Straw Hat Pirates and their adventures, particularly focusing on the character Shanks and the Red-Haired Pirates. Twelve years ago, Shanks and his crew were based in Fusha Village, a remote area in the East Blue, while they embarked on their long voyages. Now, as one of the Four Emperors, Shanks reigns in the New World. But why did they choose to stay in such a seemingly insignificant place?
For years, fans speculated that their long stay in Fusha Village was to search for the “Gomu Gomu no Mi” (Gum-Gum Fruit). However, it was revealed in Chapter 1017, titled “Command,” that Shanks obtained the Gomu Gomu no Mi 13 years ago, before their time in Fusha Village. This raises the question: what other reasons could there be for their extended stay in this small village?
Reasons Behind Shanks’ Extended Stay
- Shanks’ desire to explore the world
- Connection to Gol D. Roger
- Meeting with Portgas D. Ace
- Personal ties to Makino
One possibility is that Shanks wanted to explore the East Blue, the birthplace of his former captain, Gol D. Roger. Shanks may have been searching for something related to Roger, or perhaps he wanted to visit the place where Roger was born. Additionally, Fusha Village is close to Mount Corvo, where Roger’s son, Ace, was raised. Although Shanks and Ace did not meet until later, it is conceivable that Shanks had an interest in Ace’s existence.
Another theory suggests that Shanks’ prolonged stay in Fusha Village was due to his relationship with Makino. If Makino’s child is indeed Shanks’ son, their initial meeting would have occurred during this time. However, this theory remains speculative.
After Luffy consumed the Gomu Gomu no Mi, Shanks and his crew left Fusha Village relatively quickly. Shanks had previously mentioned that they would leave after a few more voyages, indicating that Luffy’s actions may have accelerated their departure.
