VTuber Championship: Street Fighter 6 Teams Announced

The excitement is palpable as the VTuber community gears up for the highly anticipated “VTuber Championship” featuring Street Fighter 6. This event promises to be a highlight for VTuber fans and fighting game enthusiasts alike. Be sure to tune in for what is sure to be an unforgettable competition!

Team Composition and Selection Process

The tournament will take place over two days, March 29 and 30, with 32 participants divided into 8 teams of 4. Each team consists of 4 members, and the selection process involved a draft format conducted by the team captains. Shibuya Hal, the event’s organizer, expressed the challenges faced in selecting participants, especially for the team leaders.

  • Shibuya Hal mentioned that many of the top VTubers are quite busy, making the selection process quite challenging.
  • Notably, the popular VTuber Amaki Kaito was considered too strong for the competition and was instead invited to coach.
  • The team selection was done through a roulette system, where the first captain to be selected would pick their first member, followed by the others in reverse order.

Exciting Matchups Ahead

With the teams now set, the anticipation for the matches is building. Shibuya Hal candidly admitted that predicting the strongest team is difficult, hinting at a series of thrilling matches ahead. The tournament will kick off with preliminary rounds on March 28, followed by the main tournament on March 29.

Public Viewing and Commentary

  • Public viewing will be held at HUB, free of charge (entry restricted to those 20 and older).
  • Commentary will be provided by Shuhei Yamato, with analysis from ACQUA, Shibuya Hal’s mentor.

This event is set to captivate audiences and create memorable moments in the VTuber and gaming communities.
