Broadcast Information

The highly anticipated fall anime “Dandadan” will be available for free streaming on the new future television platform, ABEMA, from November 17 to 18, 2024. All episodes from the first to the latest, including episode 7, will be aired in a special marathon. The schedule is as follows:

• November 17, 2024, 16:30 – 20:00 (ABEMA Anime Channel)
• November 17, 2024, 24:30 – 4:00 (ABEMA Anime Channel 2)
• November 18, 2024, 8:30 – 12:00 (ABEMA Anime Channel 2)

After the broadcast, all episodes will be available for free viewing for one week. The regular weekly broadcast is every Thursday at 25:00 on ABEMA Anime Channel, and it airs simultaneously on MBS/TBS network at 0:26 on the “Super Animeism TURBO” slot.

Synopsis

“Dandadan” follows the story of Momo Ayase, a high school girl born into a family of mediums, and her classmate, Ken Takakura, an occult enthusiast. Their friendship begins when Momo defends Ken from bullies. However, they often argue about their beliefs: Momo believes in ghosts but not aliens, while Ken believes in aliens but not ghosts. To prove each other wrong, Momo visits a UFO hotspot at an abandoned hospital, while Ken explores a haunted tunnel. There, they encounter overwhelming supernatural phenomena that challenge their beliefs. As they face these challenges, Momo awakens her hidden powers, and Ken gains a curse that he must confront. A fateful romance also begins to blossom amidst the chaos!

Main Characters

Momo Ayase: A high school girl from a family of mediums. She has a type for tough guys. While she doesn’t believe in aliens, she does believe in ghosts. She awakens her hidden superpowers after being abducted by a Serpo Alien.

Ken Takakura: An occult enthusiast who doesn’t believe in ghosts but does believe in aliens. He finds himself in a chase to break the curse placed on him by Turbo Baba.

Seiko: Momo’s grandmother, a powerful medium known as Doria Sinta, who provides guidance to Momo and Ken.

Turbo Baba: A modern yokai that wreaks havoc across the country. Now, only her consciousness remains within a beckoning cat.

Serpo Alien: A male alien that clones itself and targets human women to regain reproductive abilities.

Episode Flow

The first six episodes follow Momo and Ken as they navigate their supernatural encounters and personal growth. After being cursed by Turbo Baba, Ken gains transformation abilities, while Momo discovers her own powers. They seek refuge at Momo’s home, but chaos ensues as they struggle to control their newfound abilities. With the help of Momo’s grandmother, they confront Turbo Baba in a game of tag. After defeating her, they find themselves in a new predicament as Turbo Baba returns in the form of a beckoning cat, leading to a treasure hunt involving the three of them.
