Tezuka’s “Phoenix” Exhibition
First up, we have the announcement of the first large-scale exhibition dedicated to Osamu Tezuka’s masterpiece,Phoenix. Titled “Osamu Tezuka’s Phoenix Exhibition – The Phoenix as a Symbol of Dynamic Equilibrium Against the Increase of Entropy = Cosmic Life”, this exhibition will be held at Tokyo City View in Roppongi Hills from March 7 to May 25, 2025. The exhibition will be guided by biologist Shinichi Fukuoka, who will help visitors explore the philosophical themes of life depicted in Tezuka’s work.
Tezuka’s Legacy
Osamu Tezuka, often referred to as the “God of Manga”, was born in 1928 in Toyonaka, Osaka. He made his debut at the age of 17 with the four-panel comic “Maa-chan’s Diary” and went on to create numerous classics such asJungle Emperor,Ribbon no Kishi, andBlack Jack. His contributions to the manga industry are immense, having established the foundation of narrative manga and successfully launching Japan’s first full-fledged TV anime series,Astro Boy.
Exploring Life and Death in “Phoenix”
Tezuka’sPhoenixis a monumental work that explores the struggles of humanity in pursuit of eternal life through the legendary bird. The narrative traverses time and space, delving into profound themes of life, death, and reincarnation. New Game Announcement: D.C. Re:tune
In addition to the exhibition, Bushiroad has announced the full remake of the gameD.C. – Da Capo, titledD.C. Re:tune. Set in the enchanting Initial Island, where cherry blossoms bloom year-round, this remake promises to retain the original’s charm while introducing new character designs and voice actors. The beloved heroines, including Asakura Otome, Yoshino Sakura, and Shirakawa Kotori, will return with fresh visuals, alongside a new heroine named Fuki.
Character Design and Teaser
