Experience Yuru Camp in Shizuoka

Shizuoka Prefecture is hosting a special event that allows fans to immerse themselves in the world of the popular anime “Yuru Camp” until February 28, 2025. This event features a digital stamp rally across the entire prefecture and a character voice project on the Oigawa Railway. Through these initiatives, Shizuoka aims to attract visitors and promote tourism linked to the anime.

Digital Stamp Rally

• Participants can explore 40 locations in Shizuoka that served as models for the anime.
• By visiting these spots, participants can earn rewards and enter a lottery for special prizes based on the number of stamps collected.
• The event runs from October 11, 2024, to February 28, 2025.

To participate, download the official Shizuoka tourism app “TIPS” and scan the QR codes located at each spot. Rewards include:

• Participation Reward:AR images of characters for collecting one stamp.
• First Come, First Served:Original stickers of characters for the first 3,000 participants who collect 10 stamps.
• Grand Prizes:Autographed posters by voice actors, original reclining lounge chairs, and accommodation vouchers worth 10,000 yen, awarded through a lottery based on stamp collection.

Panel Exhibition

In conjunction with the stamp rally, a panel exhibition showcasing locations from “SEASON3” will be held at the Oigawa Railway Plaza Roko (Roko Museum) in Shizuoka. The exhibition will run from January 10, 2025, to February 28, 2025, and will feature:

• Scene stills from “SEASON3”
• Introductions to various model locations
• Lifesize character panels

Admission is free during the museum’s operating hours.

Character Voice Project on Oigawa Railway

Riding the Oigawa Railway will allow passengers to listen to new recordings of conversations between characters Nadeshiko Kagamihara (voiced by Yumiri Hanamori) and Rin Shima (voiced by Nao Toyama). This original story includes flashbacks from “SEASON3” and local sightseeing information. The project runs from November 1, 2024, to February 28, 2025, and is available on:

• Oigawa Main Line:From Shin-Kanaya Station to Kadoide Station (about 5 minutes), and from Kadoide Station to Iyama Station (about 5 minutes).
• Ikawa Line:Announcements before departure from Chihiro Station and after arrival at Sesokyo Onsen Station and Ikawa Station (each about 2 minutes).

Connecting Anime and Local Culture

“Yuru Camp” has depicted many episodes set in Shizuoka Prefecture in its first and second seasons, leading to a renewed recognition of the region’s charm among anime fans. Since 2020, Shizuoka has collaborated with “Yuru Camp” to promote local attractions. The airing of “Yuru Camp SEASON3” from April to June 2024 further increased interest in the Oigawa region as a tourist destination.

About Yuru Camp

“Yuru Camp” is a popular series that began serialization in May 2015 in Manga Time Kirara Forward, depicting high school girls camping and enjoying their daily lives in Yamanashi and Shizuoka Prefectures. The series has been adapted into two TV seasons, a short anime series, and a feature film released in 2022, all of which have been major hits. The third season aired from April to June 2024, with a fourth season already announced. The series has gained a new fan base due to its incorporation of outdoor knowledge and the beauty of Japan’s nature, particularly in Yamanashi, Shizuoka, and Nagano.
