Final Chapter and Special Projects Announced

The manga “Oshi no Ko” has officially concluded with its final chapter, Chapter 166, published in the 50th issue of “Weekly Young Jump” on November 14. This marks the end of a 4.5-year serialization, and the cover for the final 16th volume, set to be released on December 18, has also been unveiled. Alongside this, several commemorative projects have been announced to celebrate the conclusion of the series.

Since its debut, “Oshi no Ko” has garnered significant support from various celebrities and industry insiders, quickly becoming a hot topic. The series has also been adapted into an anime, with the first season airing in April 2023, receiving immense global acclaim and popularity across various age groups. A second season is set to air in July 2024, and a third season has already been confirmed. Additionally, a live-action drama will begin streaming on Amazon Prime Video starting November 28, followed by a theatrical release of a live-action film on December 20. A 2.5D stage adaptation is also scheduled for December.

Commemorative Projects

The 50th issue of “Weekly Young Jump” not only features the final chapter but also reveals the cover image for the special edition of the final volume, which includes a special cover and a bookstand with stickers. To celebrate the conclusion, four special projects have been announced:

  • A commemorative movie will be released on YouTube’s “Young Jump Manga TV” on November 14 at 7 PM, featuring a retrospective of the story’s chapters set to an arranged version of the song “STAR☆T☆RAIN” performed by the new B Komachi in episode 11 of the anime.
  • A special site called “FAN ARENA” will open on the same day, allowing fans to post messages about their favorite characters and the series. As the number of messages increases, downloadable original wallpapers will be made available, along with a compilation of content summarizing the series from start to finish.
  • Messages submitted on “FAN ARENA” will be incorporated into some of the performances at the promotional event “Oshi no Ko THE LAST STAGE in TOKYO DOME CITY,” which will take place starting December 18.
  • A new official community called “Oshi no Ko Official Community: Ichigo Pro Public Relations Department” will be established, allowing fans to share their thoughts and fan art, fostering interaction and enjoyment of the series even after its conclusion.

Additional projects celebrating the conclusion are in the works, with updates to be announced on the special site “FAN ARENA,” the “Ichigo Pro Public Relations Department,” “Weekly Young Jump,” and the official X (formerly Twitter) account of the series.

What’s Next for Aka Akasaka?

Furthermore, it has been revealed that Aka Akasaka will launch a new serialization in “Weekly Young Jump” starting in spring 2025. This new project will be a collaboration with Aoi Kujira, known for “Geek Circle Crisis: The Princess’s Love Story is Full of Bugs,” and Ajichika, the artist behind “Shuumatsu no Walkure.” The new series is described as a love story between a prince and a princess set in a fairy tale world, generating excitement for what is to come in the spring.
